About Attorney Joe Marion

Joe Marion was a Field Agent with the Internal Revenue Service for 13 years before entering the practice of law, making him uniquely qualified to handle your tax law needs.

While with the IRS, he served on several National Task Forces with other federal agencies, co-authored training manuals, and trained other field agents in the procedures to handle complex tax issues. He served as a National Treasury Employee Union Steward and received many awards and recognitions. He trained agents from around the country in Dallas, Texas, and Chicago, Illinois, in how to handle complex enforcement actions.

Joe is a native of Rome and attended Pepperell High School, continuing his education at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. He graduated from The John Marshall School of Law in Atlanta and formerly practiced law at the firm of Burkhalter Pierce and Marion.

Joe enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, coaching his son’s sports teams, and spending time with his family.

Our Team

Crystal Burkhalter Polizzi

Crystal is a native of Rome, Georgia and has been practicing both civil and criminal law for over ten (10) years. Crystal is licensed in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama, and practices in the areas of federal tax, estate planning, and probate matters. Prior to joining Joe Marion, Attorney at Law, Crystal practiced as a criminal prosecutor for the State of Georgia and at The Burkhalter Firm, LLC. Collectively, these experiences allow her to practice across the southeast, in any federal jurisdiction, and with inside knowledge of prosecution and defense strategies.

Before attending law school, Crystal graduated from Berry College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In 2009, Crystal graduated from The John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, and culminated her legal education with a Master of Laws in Taxation from The University of Alabama’s School of Law in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 2012. She enjoys assisting clients with intersecting matters of estate planning, taxation, business, and probate, and her extensive education and diverse legal expertise allow her to find creative solutions to complex legal problems. Additionally, she provides ancillary probate work in Florida and Alabama to simplify complex estate matters for her clients.

When not practicing law, Crystal enjoys spending time with her children and husband. Her joys include photography, being outdoors, and collecting Boston Terriers.

Kim Floyd

Kim joined the Joe Marion, Attorney at Law Team after ​retiring from  25 years of service as an Internal Revenue Agent in the Examination Division. She’s the recipient of many performance awards including the IRS Georgia District Excellence Award, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Coordinator Recognition Award, and Internal Revenue Service Georgia District Filing Season 2000 Award.

Kim became an IRS Enrolled Agent 2016, the highest credential the IRS awards, earning her the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. Kim has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Berry College where she majored in Internal Auditing and double-minoring in Accounting and Business.

Odell Justice

In Memoriam

Odell’s 34 year IRS career at IRS is impressive: he was on the Abusive Tax Avoidance Transactions team working criminal investigations with the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration for 10 years and specialized in fraud conveyances, suits to reducing taxes to judgement, estate and gift tax fraud, and suits for approval of residential seizures.

Also an Enrolled Agent, Odell taught classes all over the country on Alter Egos, Nominee and Transferees, IRS Lien Law, and  Piercing the Corporate Veil on personal liability. He worked with International Tax Attache, working International Treaties with various countries. He was the Vice President of the National Treasury Employee Union for Non-Metro for 20 years and has extensive training in Employment law and due process.
